Capacity Building

In qualification programs we empower facilitators and mentors. On a program level we focus on the program management and dissemination. On the institutional level we focus on the development and impact of civil society acteurs.

Facilitating Social Change

We qualify facilitators through a number of capacity building programs focusing on non-formal education and experiential learning. This entails tackling themes such as how to structure the learning processes and how to strengthen the participants' sense of self-responsibility. Our capacity building programs integrate the following themes:

  • Transparent learning processes
  • Self-responsibility of participants
  • Individual needs as well as developmental goals
  • Non-formal and informal learning
A holistic learning approach: Explore your passion, develop creative ideas, and put your initiative into practice.

Program Implementation

Coordinators and partner organizations take on a key role in implementing  our empowerment programs. Their role is often connected with the organizational development of the involved stakeholders. Therefore we shape spaces for learning, development and networking which reinforce long-lasting partnerships.

  • Coordinators' capacity building meetings
  • Establishment of a collective international network of experts and coordinators
  • Consultation

Mentoring is a type of relationship which combines people with different levels of experiences. Its main goal is to enable learning and growth. We apply mentoring programs as a supportive absolute tool that always accompanies our projects' participants. Therefore we undertake the following activities:

  • Qualifying mentees and mentors
  • Producing handbooks
  • Implementing national and international mentoring programs

Facilitators' Pool

The Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg disposes a manifold pool of international trainers. These facilitators have passed our specialized training programs and are hence qualified to deliver high-quality training.
