Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg: New Horizons

Activities

Russian Part of Caucasus | Program Language: RussianNew Horizons

New Horizons promotes inter-ethnic dialogue in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation.

The program empowers young people to pursue volunteer activism in their local communities and enhances their abilities in overcoming ethnical boundaries.

Every year 20 participants from nine regions in the North Caucasus attend three seminars. They learn practically how to manage conflicts, get trained on project management and work together with individuals from different backgrounds. On that basis, they implement small projects in their cities or regions.

Besides the involvement of New Horizons in the traditional “Dobrograd Volunteers’ Meetings”, in 2014 around 350 volunteers from all over Russia attended the 15th meeting in the mountains of North Caucasus.
In 2013 ten participants implemented nine projects within New Horizons dealing with anti-discrimination, ecology and cartoons.
